Q: Cold emailing
I understand from the other questions that cold emailing is not allowed. We bought out a company and renamed it and we also acquired all the customers that are not aware that we bought the company and will be renaming it. They were optedin with the previous ownership.
I want to run a campaign and also update them about the new ownership. There are around 13000customers.

If the customers originally opted in under the previous ownership, and you’re just communicating the update (not cold prospecting), that’s generally fine 🙌
Just make sure your first email clearly explains the acquisition and gives them an easy opt-out.

I dont have a plan and looking to purchase one. I will be communicating the update and sell them new product which is completely different to what they signed up for. To specify they signed up with the previous ownership to getting a brokerage services and we will be offering software and hardware solutions. The brokerage is still in play but we will be shutting it down soon.

Since the new offer is very different, you'd need to get fresh opt-in before marketing to them through Encharge. You can send a one-time announcement email inviting them to opt in — just no ongoing promos until they do 🙌
